      <image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>I see yoga as a friendly hello to the body, a way to come home to yourself. Yoga offers a therapeutic route to finding and unravelling tension and moving towards greater ease and balance. Connecting you to your body’s innate wisdom and resilience, yoga is a great all round health insurance. I orient my practice and teaching around mindful movement sequences, longer-held postures and conscious rest. I see the breath as an anchor for expansion of the mind, and gravity as a root from which the body can find buoyancy. I have been practicing yoga since the 1990s. After completing a one-year full-time yoga teacher training with YogaArts in Australia, I qualified as an International Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher in 2002. I have continued to explore and study many forms of yoga with various teachers over the years: Astanga, Iyengar, restorative and therapeutic yoga, breathwork and meditation, and yoga for pregnancy and beyond. Most recently my ever-deepening passion for supporting women’s health and life transitions has led me to develop additional expertise in yoga for pelvic health and yoga for menopause. I am also a certified postnatal doula.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Yoga Styles - Yoga for pelvic health</image:title>
<image:caption>Common problems relating to the pelvic floor include: leaking when laughing or sneezing, having to go to the bathroom too often, back/hip/pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, abdominal separation, frequent bladder infections, digestive, menstrual or sexual difficulties. Pregnancy and menopause effect the healthy pelvic floor functioning. All bodies have pelvic floors, yet we generally avoid discussions about ‘down there’. Understanding, connecting to and healing your pelvic floor can be life changing. Yoga for pelvic health guides you through simple yoga postures and breathing practices designed to encourage an appreciation of the pelvis; to awaken and restore balance in the pelvic floor and in its relationship with the rest of your body. This therapeutic practice takes a holistic approach by looking at the connections between physical alignment, breathing mechanics, and our life stories in how they impact health and the pelvic floor. By using a mindful approach to yoga postures, you can learn to lengthen and soften tight pelvic floor muscles, and to increase tone and energise them from a relaxed state. With self-enquiry, you can be invested and empowered in your own healing journey. I am a Pelvic Floor Yoga® accredited teacher, trained with Leslie Howard. For private group, for 1-to-1 classes, please request a free 20 minute consultation. For workshops, please get in touch.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Workshops - Befriend your pelvis workshop series</image:title>
<image:caption>This workshop series is centred around bringing about more understanding and connection to this often under appreciated part of the body. With the legs below and the core above, the pelvis is the physical and energetic fulcrum of the body. The pelvic area can be too gripped or too weak, or both. Mindfully strengthening and stabilising the pelvic floor helps to create the correct foundation for each movement in the body. In these workshops we will locate the layers of the pelvic floor within our pelvis. We will explore the dynamics of our pelvic floor in relation to the mechanics of our breathing and in relation to our posture and movement. We will learn ways to help develop more flexibility, strength, and coordination of our pelvic function. Pelvic health can often be overlooked until we are presented with an issue; pelvic pain, bladder weakness, prolapse, digestive, menstrual and sexual difficulties etc. These workshops will support you whether you are going through a current pelvic health issue, or are simply curious to find out how to best support a happy, healthy pelvis. Contact me for more information and for upcoming workshops.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Workshops - Menopause Yoga workshop series</image:title>
<image:caption>For most women, the approach and transition through menopause can be an unsettling time, with each woman experiencing her own concoction of symptoms, ranging from hot flushes and irritability, anxiety, brain fog and overwhelm, to lethargy and low mood. Yoga can be our best friend at this time of change; offering simple techniques for easing and reducing our symptoms. Through yoga we can relieve stress and reset the nervous system towards rest. We can build up our musculoskeletal and cardiovascular health and energetic vitality. In these workshops you will learn simple breathing exercises and yoga poses, mindfulness and other meditation techniques, which you can use every day in your own life to carve your most easeful and positive way through your menopause. Workshops are themed according to the symptoms you are going through and to the menopause ‘season’ you are in. There will be an interactive women’s circle discussion, 90 minutes yoga class, and general advice on topics ranging from nutrition, natural remedies and holistic wellbeing, to maintaining pelvic health and vitality as we age, and medical factual information on HRT.
